All / Personalized / None
After you subscribe, the bell on a channel cycles through three levels: Personalized (a sensible default), All (every upload), and None. The user sets intensity per source — the platform never does it for you.
Why max isn't the default
Making ‘All’ the default is how platforms spam their way to churn. Playback defaults new subscriptions to Personalized and shows creators their opt-in rate instead of letting them blast everyone. Notifications are throttled per channel even at ‘All’.
Playback is a reference build. Where a feature has a boundary — no transcoding, plays not audited views, owner-side moderation — we document it here rather than implying otherwise.
